How far ahead do you need to book this?

As much notice as possible, particularly for a weekend event when demand across the network is higher, but a few days is usually enough to sort airspace and access properly. Ring and ask rather than assume it is too late.

Can you cover more than one checkpoint or a whole route?

Yes, within reason for the size of the area and the time available on the day. A route with several points, or a muster field with more than one entrance, is a normal booking and gets discussed against a fixed price at the time.

Do you need permission from every landowner along a route?

Permission is needed for the take-off point and for any land the aircraft is flying low enough to be an operational concern for. Most routes across open access land and common land are straightforward, and anything less clear gets checked before the booking is confirmed.

Is this the same aircraft used for an emergency search?

Yes, the same pair of aircraft and the same operator. An emergency search always takes priority on the day if one comes in, which is worth knowing when booking something for a fixed time.

This is booked ahead rather than same day, which means it can be timed for the light and weather that suit the ground, and covers routes, checkpoints, muster fields and headlands that would take a team on foot most of a morning to walk properly.

The aircraft and the camera pair are the same as on an urgent job. What changes here is the planning: a route or area agreed in advance, a time that suits the event, and a written note of what was covered handed to the organiser afterwards.
